Hello my lovelies,
It’s time to say so long to Autumn, what an eventful three months it has been for me. Sadly not on the reading front as I still haven’t gotten out of my reading slump – however, I am starting to read more books (whether I finish them is another story).
But I am not going to let that bring me down, I am still reading chapters at a time and I am trying out genres I normally wouldn’t try. It’s a slow burn, but at this moment it seems to be what my mind needs – short bursts and no deadlines. I think we forget that leading up to the festive season many of us have family and work commitments that undoubtedly arise.
Now I digress, let’s dive into my wrap for Autumn 2022.
As I mentioned, I wasn’t on form when it came to finishing books. So I managed a total of two books this season, with plenty of starts but hardly any finishes. Therefore to make this wrap-up robust, I am going to include what I had started also – maybe I might finish them in Winter?
Finished

Kingdom of the Feared was the last instalment of the Kingdom of the Cursed trilogy. I had preordered the book and when it arrived I actually took a few weeks to even start it, but when I did, I devoured it in a matter of days. When you have a moment go check out my review, it was surprising, even for me.
Ghost was a book I got for my box of stories subscription and I confess I sat on this book for probably almost a year, but when I read it…boy, oh, boy it was not what I expected! Grant really puts you through the ringing and when you think you can predict the outcome – BAMN, she does a 360 on you!
Overall, both of these books were fab and I would recommend them.
The next category is the books I have started, you might be surprised at the eclectic mix that I ended up gravitating towards. I see a pattern right now of non-fiction advice/self-help books, it’s nice to move away from fantasy and PNR – but there is one PNR from my favourite author that I couldn’t resist.
Started Reading

Two books were influenced buy’s, I brought the breakup monologues when I attended a literary festival, and Happy Sexy Millionaire I brought while listening to Diary of a Ceo while perusing a bookstore. How to Kill your Family and The Spirit Engineer were random purchases over the last year. I am intrigued to see how I will get on with these books, I know at the moment The Spirit Engineer is going slowly which is making it hard for me to pick up.
That’s it! What do you think? Were you like me and struggled to get going or did you devour many books?
Till next time.
