Book Log: Autumn Update 16.10.23

Hello my lovelies,

Another update – but not another Monday, I had wedding ceremony to go to (yip, it was on a Monday!) Last week I started reading a new book – not from my Autumn TBR. I actually went to the author’s in conversation for the launch of the book, it was nice, but I wasn’t happy that there was 250 people there…I would have loved to meet her afterwards or get my book personalised.

But let me tell you about this book:

Lydia Millen is a YouTube (or do we say content creator?), I have been following her for years and I adored that she has found love in living in the countryside. So when she spoke about releasing a book about her experiences with living in the country and the seasons that come with it – I was intrigued.

I am currently reading the chapter on Autumn, and currently my impressions are that it’s a sweet book about reflections on Autumn and how it can align with life…however, there not a lot of depth to it. I can tell Millen is not deep diving emotionally and it all feels surface level – which is a shame as I would love to have her actual insights on her life and experiences.

The book is definitely fitting in with my autumn vibes though, so I hope to finish it soon and get into the next one in my TBR.

Who knows, maybe I will finish my TBR this time?

Till next time.

  1. The book cover is certainly beautiful! I never keep to my TBR; I’ve decided I’m much more of a mood reader. So I understand the struggle.

    1. I think I might be the same, the only problem I have with mood reading is that I have too many books to read! hahaha
