Book Log: Autumn 2024 TBR

Hello my lovelies,

Welcome to the Autumn Equinox! My favourite season is upon us in the Northern Hemisphere…I prefer the temperate seasons as opposed to the extreme. But you do you boo, don’t let any sway you otherwise!

This season’s picks are again leaning towards fantasy (surprise, surprise). Though, I have one classic included and a dystopian setting that Margaret Atwood stated was electrifying.

I have utterly fallen down with my #bookbuyingban…I was lured by some Korean artwork and Chinese Mythology, as well as a cookbook from a home cook that I adore – sigh. But maybe, just maybe, I can pause for this season and give myself some breathing space to get back on track (here’s hoping).

Now let’s get into what I picked for Autumn 2024?

I am still using the illumicrate prompt cards I got in their subscription box awhile ago, to help me pick out my 6 books. I enjoy the prompts as they challenge me to take a hard look at my bookcase – plus I have found that I am getting through some of my oldest TBR books on the shelf. #winwin

To Read

Only one big tome this season, which is probably a blessing in disguise – especially since I know a few of these books will challenge me with their writing style and content. But overall, I am happy with the fantasy, PNR and a dash of the classics.

  • The oldest book on your TBR – The Power by Naomi Alderman
  • A book with a Romance – Demon from the Dark by Kresley Cole
  • A book you never finished – Autumn Chills by Agatha Christie
  • The illumicrate book you have had the longest – Witch King by Martha Wells
  • A book you brought for the cover – Fairy Tale by Stephen King
  • A book by a debut author – Shanghai Immortal by A.Y. Chao

What do you think of the books I picked? Have you read any of them? I think the one book that I am hesitant to read is The Power, for some reason the cover puts me off immensely.

Till next time.
