Book Log: Autumn 2024 Wrap Up

Hello my lovelies,

2024 Autumn is now coming to an end. It wasn’t my best season, I only managed to finish one of my Autumn TBR – but the other three were a mixture of subscriptions boxes, hauls and an old TBR.

On another note – I have now completed my yearly book goal for 2024! The last few years it has been struggle for me to complete my year goal, so I am chuffed to be able to complete it before the end of this year (more to come in a later post).

But enough about that, let’s dive into my wrap for Autumn 2024.

Finished

The Half King – Underwhelmed. The main storyline was interesting enough, and I did enjoy the world building…but, and I mean but. The romance was not that believable on my part, which removed from the story at times.

Demon from the Dark – An old school paranormal romance. It always helps me get back into the swing of reading when I have had a slump.

Lessons in Chemistry – A step outside my normal genre. The writing was superb, the topic fascinating and the overarching story was heart wrenching.

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches – A magical cosy read that had me smiling throughout, a wonderful book to finish autumn with.

DNF

This season, I was quite disheartened with one of the books I DNFed. Shanghai Immortals was the book I went purposely out of the way to buy, and only to be disappointed 100 pages in. The Power was a birthday gift from a friend a few years back, I finally managed to get around to reading it. Only to discover I did not like the writing style at all.

Overall, I didn’t managed to get through

That’s it! What do you think? How did you go in the end – manage to read more than expected??

Till next time.
