Journal Update: 16/04/2025

Hello my lovelies,

I am back from my trip to New Zealand. What a whirlwind it was! The weather held out (as it is technically Autumn there) and my friends had an amazing time – there was no arguments and we are still friends afterwards…winning!

But what does that mean for my reading goals? Well, after four 12 hours flights, I read absolutely nothing on those plane journeys…

So that means, my March TBR was not attempted at all *sigh*. It pains me to say that, because I am so determined to achieve my reading goal this year.

However, now after that pity party – it’s time to get down to business. I am happy to April has gotten off to a better start and maybe, just maybe I can claw back some books so that I can get on track.

Currently I am 4 books behind, but I feel with the right books I could get back on track this time in May!

Currently Reading:

Here are my current thoughts about these books:

The Count of Monte Cristo – I’ve just reached the part where he gets imprisoned (I hope that’s not a spoiler). While the story is a little slow due to the immense character development of the supporting characters, I am still engaged.

The Marriage Game I am a few chapters in now. Its you typical enemies to lover trope, the cultural elements of the MC being Indian is something that makes this story more engaging for me.

Firebird – Started this the other day. First impressions is that this book is going to be a spicy one. I also am enjoying that the author has decided to set in ancient Rome!

Outstanding TBR

Out of books I have selected for this month to read, the following below are what I have also brought forward from my March TBR:

I hope to at least start both of these this April, even though I don’t have much time left – I want to make some sort of attempt.

Finished

There is something to salvage from April! Heavenly Bodies was another Fairyloot subscription book…but I am happy that I have finished a book in general. I enjoyed the world in this book, the MCs were quality and didn’t annoy as much. Bonus is that the supporting characters really added to the story and were well-rounded.

A bit of a manic update. How are you fairing this month? Hopefully better than me!

Till next time.
