Hello my lovelies,
Welcome Summer! Spring has been lovely here in the UK. I have been making the most of sitting in the sunshine and surprising myself with also increasing my reading too.
This month is my birthday month, and while it is tempting to pick anything I want…it’s important to me to keep last month’s momentum going and get in front of my yearly reading goal. Wish my luck as I desperately want to get on top!
Here is a reminder on how I am picking my monthly TBR books:
Historically, I have been using prompt cards to help me pick. Yet, this year, I am doing something different.
The first thing, will be to rollover one book that I haven’t read from the previous month. One thing I noticed last year, was that whatever I didn’t read in that month would get lost on the wayside. So this time, I want to rollover a book to help me hold myself account.
Second thing, I will read a book from my Fairyloot Romantacy subscription. I want to be active in staying on top of this, as I believe I will not always want to keep the books after I read them.
Lastly, I will make an conscious effort to pick one book that I really want to read from my shelf, and one from my exploding pile (where I give myself this year to read it or they will be sold or given to charity).
So let’s get into the books I have picked this month:

Rollover Book: Enchantress by James Maxwell
Subscription Book: The Red Scholar’s Wake by Aliette de Bodard
Exploding Book: The Breakup Monologues by Rosie Wilby
Interest Read: Quicksilver Trilogy by Josie Jaffrey
I feel like this month is a bit of a Hodge Podge, but I am alright with that. The quicksilver trilogy is an advance copy that I want to start on and as it is a whopping 775 pages, this will definitely be rolled over into July as well. I think the book I might struggle with maybe The Red Scholar’s Wake as it is science fiction…you’d think that with liking fantasy, science fiction might be a close favourite?!
So what do you think? Have you read any of these books from this TBR? I would love to hear your thoughts below!
Till next time.
