Hello, my lovelies,
Another month done! We are now into the cooler months here in the UK, I can feel the crispness in the air – while still enjoying the suns warmth. The days are getting noticeably shorter, but I am not bothered by that.
Does that mean in my social life things might actually slow down? Ha, I think not! But what I am working on is making sure I have a good balance in the mix, relaxation/reading and going out to see people. Plus, I need to get saving for my friend’s wedding in Dubai.
So that is where I am currently – but let’s dive into the wrap-up!
Here is a reminder of the books I picked for September:

Rollover Book: The Kamogawa Food Detectives by Hisashi Kashiwai
Subscription Book: Spells for Forgetting by Adrienne Young
Exploding Book: The Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett
Interest Read: Quicksilver Trilogy by Josie Jaffrey
September flew by for me, but I am happy to finish up an exploding book and my ARC (with time to spare as well). The Uncommon Reader, was definitely a palette cleanser for me after Augusts heavy reading. Which lead me to getting The QuickSilver Trilogy ARC completed as well!
The Kamogawa Food Detectives has been a little bit of a slog, while I am enjoying the story, it’s not a book I can consume quickly. I’ve noticed this is the case with any Japanese translated book, there is something about the content to me that I want to take my time with – do any of you have that experience?
Spells for Forgetting – I am on the fence about. There is something about the storyline that feels sluggish to me. I looked at the reviews of this book and it’s comforting to find that many are on the same page as me. Which means there is a potential that I will DNF this book.
Therefore I read a total of 2 books in the month of September.
I am very happy where I am at the moment, still on track to reach my yearly reading goal – and with the potential to go past my goal! Reflecting on my year, currently I feel this book picking selection has been working out really well for me.
How did you get on in September? I would love to hear in the comments below.
Till next time.
