January 2026 TBR

Hello, my lovelies.

I’m happy that I can get this out in the first week! One of my goals this year is to get my TBR out in the first week of each month. That way, it helps me stay accountable to my yearly goal and be discerning about what I want to read. While I love mood reading, it’s also sensible to set goals.

This month, I am currently packing up to move house; therefore, I am being realistic about how much I might actually read during this time. However, if I can get through two books, then that’s progress.

Now enough waffling, let’s get into it.

Here is a reminder on how I am picking my monthly TBR books:

These are the parameters I set for myself for the month:

The first thing will be to rollover one book that I haven’t read from the previous month.

Second thing, I will read a book from my Fairyloot Romantacy subscription and/or a book that I got from a historical book box subscription.

Third thing, I will make a conscious effort to pick one book from my shelf that I really want to read, and one from my self-destruct pile (where I give myself this year to read it, or they will be sold or given to charity).

Lastly, as I am a part of two book clubs, I will automatically add one of them to my TBR. No excuses, I need to read the book in its entirety or enough to be able to contribute to the book club conversation.

So let’s get into the books I have picked this month:

Rollover Book: Zhara by S. Jae-Jones

Subscription Book: Warrior Princess Assassin by Brigid Kemmerer

Exploding Book: Fairy Tale by Stephen King

Interest Read: Help I S*xted my Boss by William Hanson & Jordan North

Book Club Read: The New Neighbours by Claire Douglas

Heavy on the fantasy, though, I am already reading Zhara, and it’s YA, which I usually don’t read anymore. But I find that I am thoroughly enjoying it, plus it is an old subscription book (so double whammy).

The book club read I am not so excited about… the thriller genre is a real hit-or-miss for me. From the book club meetup I had on Monday, not many people are enthused about this author. So I am apprehensive; I am already up to date with my other book club read, which makes this book unavoidable.

So let’s see how this goes…

What do you think? Have you read any of these books from this TBR? I would love to hear your thoughts below!

Till next time.
