Hello my lovelies,

I am finally getting some rhythm in the second quarter of this year. Thanks to this bank holiday weekend (cheers Easter), I have been able to finish a book at the start of the month – my review is imminent.

Now, wish me luck for the rest of the month and that I get through at least another two books!

So here is my current update.

Here are my current thoughts about these books:

The Iliad – I am surprisingly getting through this at a steady pace. What I find intriguing about this edition is that it summarises the chapter before you even read it. So I have now gotten into the habit of not reading the summary to save myself the frustration.

The Courage to be Disliked – This book I picked up at a bookstore near London Bridge station due to not having my Kindle or a paperback with me – silly move! I am enjoying the conversation in this book. Do I find the concept interesting? Yes, but can I get behind this belief system? Not sure. I am halfway through this book, and it shouldn’t be too long until I can write a full review.

Warrior Princess Assassin by Brigid Kremmer – wow, I am really blown away by how bad this book was. While the writing was clear, all three characters were lacking in depth – well, maybe Asher had a bit more than the rest. But there was little to no world-building; the whole plot (while straightforward) didn’t have much substance; and, finally, the romance… little chemistry between certain characters.

It has left me a little bewildered, though. When I checked the reviews, a lot of people raved about this book. Am I in the minority who found this book, quite frankly, trash?
