Some people are ordained for greatness…

Those people usually have a lot of drama in their life. Drama I happily do without. I live in a forgotten corner of nowhere for a reason: there is safety in anonymity. I have enough problems just trying to get by.

But when Kieran, a sinfully sexy demigod at the pinnacle of power, crashes into my life, suddenly my whole world is turned upside down.

He’s harboring a deadly secret, one that could destroy all he holds dear. He thinks I’m the key to his salvation, and he wants me to help him claim vengeance.

He also wants me with a passion that burns my body from the inside out.

To ignore him is impossible, but to give in to my desires, even for a night, would thrust me into danger I might not survive.

Can I resist the temptation?

Good old Kindle unlimited gets me again! I saw this book and I thought I am in need of a supernatural book with spice and I was not let down!

The story is set in a world where there is a magical, a non-magical realm and the in-between where both societies can live in mutual peace. You are introduced to Alexis an unassuming Ghost Whisper who is trying to make ends meet for her two wards, on her way into she is almost run over by some douchebag in a Ferrari. Little did she know this run in would change her life and throw her into the magical realm that she has been desperately trying to stay away from.

While the concept was nothing new, I really enjoyed the world-building by Breene. The variety of supernatural beings, werewolves, demi-gods, vampires etc was not out of the box but their powers were refreshing. The main storyline was engaging, it had a good pace and I like the interaction between the two main characters. The supporting characters were also very strong, when I finished the book I already had a couple of favourites.

I have finished 3/6 books in this saga, however, I will not be in a rush to read the other three as I am not that interested where the storyline was heading. Though, I wouldn’t be surprised if I picked the rest of the books if I want a comfort read. Slightly disappointed that Breene decided to not write any books on the supporting characters, I think some of them deserve their own story (personally).

Overall, I really enjoyed these books and if you are after an easy paranormal series to read then I would recommend these books!
