One woman stuck between two immortals, yet she cannot bare to see them fight over her. A fantastic story about boundaries and trust, mixed with some sizzling moments.
To touch a Dark One is death.
To talk to an immortal is suicide.
Yet, I’ve been marked by both.
A Vampire.
And the King of the immortals.
My life is no longer my own.
And now I know the truth, my life was never mine to begin with.
It was theirs.
It’s always been theirs.
When I read the synopsis, I have to say I didn’t know what to expect. My initial impression was that this book was going to be quite dark. Much to my surprise, I was utterly wrong.
The main characters Ethan (Vampire) and Genesis (servant to The Dark Ones) are bold and charming. There is a push and pull effect between both characters, which I love! Their bond grows steadily throughout the book; I like the emotional unsteadiness between the main characters. It may seem a little erratic to some, but I think it compliments the storyline.
You also get to meet other dark ones from different species and learn a little of their backstory. There are Sirens, Werewolves and Angels.
I don’t want to delve any further because I believe it will give away the story. Overall it is a great supernatural read, with some powerful moment mixed with steamy interactions.
