Book Log: Winter 2023/2024 TBR

Hello my lovelies,

We are here, we are at the end of 2023! What an emotional ride it has been for me with my reading. I had to half my reading goal the first half of the year…even then I won’t be meeting my goal of 20 books!

I confess, seeing that number does bring me down a little – my best year to date was 60 books in 2021. But when I reflect on that it was the pandemic haha, I literally had nothing else to do but read…

Though, this time round, my reading has been more varied – which is something that I have been wanting to do for years. I am picking up more non-fiction, there is also an increase in diversity of authors that I read, and I am not staying predominantly in my comfort genre.

So what is my first goal for this Winter 2023/2024?

I decided to pick my books using the illumicrate prompt cards I got in their subscription box awhile ago. Along with that, I am going to stick to selecting 6 books again – so statistically 2 books per month. If I find that I can read more than that, I will consider adjusting my number for the next season.

To Read

Overall, from the prompts I randomly selected – it looks like I am still heavily fantasy based for Winter. I also have an ARC and a contemporary book thrown it just to keep it interesting.

  • A book from an author you’ve never read before – Grave Cold by Shannon Knight
  • A book that has been adapted into a movie or TV show – Good Omens by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman
  • The newest book on your TBR – Good Materials by Dolly Alderton
  • A book with a colour in the title – Song of Silver, Flame like Night by Amelie Wen Zhao
  • A book inspired by mythology – Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan
  • A book with a one word title – Godkiller by Hannah Kaner

What do you think of the books I picked? Have you read any of them?

Till next time.
